The Modern Day Battle with Obesity

There is a war going on right now and it is being waged inside the bodies of most people in the country and indeed in the western hemisphere and gradually making its way on to other countries as well.

It is a battle between the digestion process and the tons of junk food that is being forced down millions of greedy gullets every day.

battle with obesityVery few people stop and think about what they are doing to themselves because they have been sort of brain washed to believe that eating all this great tasting processed food is actually the norm.

However, we are all being fooled by an industry that is bent of profit first and foremost and as long as the cash registers are ringing in the cash, then nobody is bothering to ask awkward questions.

Junk Food Wars

People are perfectly happy to keep visiting fast food restaurants and eating their way though mountains of food. Things like hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, pizza and all manner of related high calorie, high carb, high trans fat laden toxic junk and the worst part is they tell themselves they are enjoying it!

Then they wash it all down with a huge paper cup full of sugary sweet soda.

This is sure to pile even more empty calories onto an already unhealthy meal. Then they go away and wonder why their clothes are feeling tighter than before.

Then when they go to weigh themselves on the bathroom scales... Oh hey, where did all the extra pounds come from!

The Sugar Debate

A lot of the problems of obesity, according to experts that are arguing the case for reducing the amount of sugar in foods, are people's lack of knowledge about how sugar acts on the body.

It's easy to just ignore what's going on and hope that everything will be all right.

Well, it is not all right! And the continuing rise in the number of obese people despite all the warnings is a sure sign that people are not taking much, if any notice.

Yet the answer is so simple and staring everyone in the face. You have to wonder why nobody is doing anything like this to help themselves:

Cut back on sugar!

Or better still, cut sugar out of your diet altogether!

All it takes is cutting back on the foods and drinks that are loaded with sugar (sucrose and fructose). By reducing your intake of these sugars every day, you will certainly see your weight stop rising and start going in the other direction!

All it takes is getting people to see the truth and then act on it.

Learning More

It's important to learn all you can about how your body interacts with the food you eat and what is good for your health and what is not.

A diet rich in fresh, natural whole foods an no processed junk is one that will provide that good health that you should eat for.

It is possible to sidestep the work involved in preparing and cooking your own healthy meals by at least trying to lose weight through a well established diet food delivery program such as Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig or the like. The cost of Nutrisystem for example is surprisingly affordable.

However, these will only help you lose some of the fat you have accumulated over time, since they rely on portion control, low calorie meals and frequent eating throughout the day to help you lose weight.

They won't necessarily get you into a long-term slim and healthy body, especially if you slip back into eating junk food after your diet is over. Too many dieters fall into that trap and wonder why their diet failed.

There is a great article that has been published on just this subject entitled: the way to obesity and back. It is definitely worth reading as it doesn't pull any punches and tells it like it is.

It spells out the real reason why over half the population of the United States is overweight and heading for record numbers of obese people.

It also tells you what you have to do in order to combat the problem and turn your life around so that you can enjoy a more healthy and productive life. That is, of course, assuming that you are even interested in doing that and forsaking the artificially tasty junk food that you have become so used to!
